Another Obsession: Highlighters

If you looked at my makeup collection, you would see I have 3 main weakness, lipstick, eyeshadow palettes and highlighters. The most recent of them weaknesses would definitely be highlighters, I can't seem to stop buying them lately. And today I thought I'd share them all with you.

In the drugstore category I have one single highlight, MUA's Undress Your Skin and two palettes, the Sleek Solstice palette and Makeup Revolution's Highlight palette. I have to admit I very rarely reach for these as I tend to favour my high end ones. But after getting them out again and swatching them, I think I will be making an effort to use them more. All of them are really well pigmented for such affordable products, and look lovely when applied. The Sleek palette has four shades in it, a cream champagne pink shade, a pink/purple baked powder highlight, a yellow toned powder and a bronze baked powder. All of them are amazingly pigmented and look gorgeous on the skin. This palette is getting a lot of attention at the minute because Jaclyn Hill has recently talked about it, and I completely understand the hype. I've loved this palette ever since I bought it last year when it was released. My second palette is from Makeup Revolution and is the one that I very rarely reach for, although pigmented in my swatches these powders take a lot of building up on my face and I can never be bothered to use it. In it there is a pink a peach and a yellow/gold highlight. Lastly is the very first highlighter I bought, MUA's Undress your skin its a beautiful well pigmented pink toned highlight that I just don't reach for enough. I adored this when I first got it but like I've said these ones have unfortunately been neglected for my more expensive highlighters.

sleek solstice: ecliptic, hemisphere, sub solar, equinox, makeup revolution: golden lights, peach lights, pink lights, mua: undress your skin.

High end wise I have 5 single highlighters, my one cream highlighter is Benefits, Watts Up this one is a mini from a Benefit set I got, and if I'm honest I've only used it once, I don't really get a long with cream products. Next is the first high end highlighter that I got, which can also be used as a blusher. This is Dior's Rose Diamond and it is still one of my favourite products. This gradients from a lovely white pearly highlight to a pink blush, all the colours can be used separately or swirled together depending on what kind of look you are going for. It transfers onto the skin quite sheerly but leaves you with a lovely subtle glow. Another hyped up product is The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer, the pigment on this is amazing its a gorgeous champagne gold and it looks amazing on the skin, a little goes a long way with this so I can imagine it will last me a long time. Lastly I have two Becca highlights, and these were both 100% purchased because of Jaclyn Hill. First is her collaboration with Becca, Champagne Pop a gorgeous champagne highlight that shows up quite bronzey on me but still looks lovely. And secondly Pearl, this was released in the Christmas palette from Becca and I was devastated that I missed out on it. It's a pale girls dream highlight, a stunning white 'pearl' shade. Being the massive Jaclyn Hill fangirl that I am, I was over the moon when I found out these beauties were permanently being sold in the UK and I bought them both a few days after their releases. These highlighters are by far the best I own, extremely pigmented, long wearing and the softest powders I have ever come across, even my Real Techniques Duo Fibre brushes have made marks in these! Again a little goes a long with Pearl and Champagne Pop so they will last me forever (if they don't break beforehand with their amazing texture)

benefit watts up, dior rose diamond, the balm mary lou manizer, becca pearl, becca champagne pop

So thats my extensive highlighter collection, more shimmer and glow than any girl will need in a lifetime, but I can guarantee I will add plenty more to it. Next up on the hitlist is definitely Anastasia's Glow Kits they look amazing!
Have you got any must have highlighters for me to try, and what are your makeup weaknesses? Let me know :)
Much Love

EVENTUALLY.. Dior Rose Diamond :)

Hi Everyone. As you may be able to tell from the title of this post I am extremely excited about one of my most recent make up purchases. I first saw Dior, Diorskin Poudre Shimmer in Rose Diamond (such a long name) in one of Tanya Burr's Youtube videos ages ago. I fell in love with it as soon as I set eyes on it and I have been dying to get my hands on it ever since!! But at £32 I just couldn't justify spending the money, until a few weeks ago.

i literally couldn't get a picture without a reflection because of how shiny the box is

In all honestly I didn't even think the Debenham's where I live sold this product, because I had never seen it on display, but after seeing a sample tucked away behind all the other testers at the Dior counter, I decided to ask if it was in stock, to my luck it was and after much hesitation I decided to buy it. My boyfriend was kind enough to put £15 towards it, so it wasn't as expensive for me. When I opened the box the product itself is in its own velvet pouch (I think this is the same with all Dior products? but after never owning a single piece of Dior make up before, I was amazed) I sadly enjoy packaging so this was a great added touch to such a sophisticated looking product and made me love it even more. The powder itself is housed in a gorgeous navy blue case with 'Dior' wrote in silver, with a holographic 'CD' for Christian Dior behind that. It has a full sized mirror in the lid and with no unnecessary brush the size of the powder is just as big as the case.

Now to the important part, the product. One word beautiful! The colour goes from white to a gorgeous rosy pink and to my suprise it isn't shimmery at all and when applied it gives a lovely glow to the skin. The lighter left hand side is lovely to apply just above the cheekbones as a highlight, and the pink can be used as a blush. I've used it for both of these and it looks stunning. It really brightens up the face and gives a healthy, natural glow. All in all I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Granted it is a bit steep to spend £32 on a face powder and I still can't quite believe I've gone and spent that much, but I really am glad I picked it up. I can't imagine wanting or needing to buy another highlight colour for a long time now, because I really am determined to get my moneys worth out of this. After longing for this for so long I am really happy I finally have it, and I am not at all disappointed, I love it just as much as I expected I would. It really is the most beautiful piece of make up I own. (I'm so cringey!!!)

Hope your week has started off well :)

Instagram Post #3

I kind of neglected Instagram a few weeks back and hardly posted anything, but over the past week or so I've collected up a fair few pictures and eventually have enough to make a decent collage to show you guys :)

The first 2 pictures are from over three weeks ago, I eventually tried out my Chocolate Face Mask from Montage Jeunesse and I loved it. I got this Ohana Raspberry Lemonade from a sweet shop in Liverpool its amazing. Americans come up with the best things!! I'm trying to get into a routine of putting on a face mask every other Wednesday and last week I tried the White Chocolate Montage Jeunesse one. Can you tell I'm obsessed with Raspberry? I went to the shop last week and came back with these Raspberry flavoured treats. We eventually got snow where I live a few nights back. It was all gone by the next morning so the only picture I got was this dark one :( luckily as I type this the snow is coming down sooooooo heavy :) so hopefully its going to stick around for alot longer this time!! I started the Be Fit in 90 workout a few days ago, to get into shape so fingers crossed I have a nice toned bod in the upcoming months. I just had to pick up 2 of the new Rimmel Apocolips Lip Lacquers the day they came out. Me and the boy got a Domino's half and half pizza, I ate 2 slices and was full so thought I would snap a pic for Instagram before I carried on eating. And finally I'm stilling so excited about picking up Rose Diamond after work yesterday. I cant wait to use it!!

Hope your all well and the weather isn't causing too many problems where you are. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and leave yours in the comments so I can follow you :)

My Makeup Wishlist

Ive seen a fair few 'Wishlist' posts around recently so ive decided to jump on the bandwagon and do a few myself. Starting with some make up items I would love to have but cant quite justify spending the money on them :(

1. Dior Rose Diamond, looks like such a stunning highlight and the packaging is just beautiful and would look amazing in my make up collection, but unfortunetly right now I just could not justify spending so much money
2. Soleil Tan de Chanel, again this just looks gorgeous and everybody says how fantastic it is! It seems Im the only person to not have it! If I happen to have quite a bit of money going spare then this is a must buy for me!
3. Nars Lipstick, honestly I would love to try out alot of the Nars Lipsticks because I have heard such great things about them. Im a total Nars virgin and I think my first purchase would be either the Semi Matte Lipstick in Funny Face. Its a beautiful pink that I would adore wearing. Or the bronzer everyone seems to have - Laguna (i decided not to feature Laguna in this post because two bronzers in one wishlist may be a tad greedy :P)
4. HD Brow Kit, well alot of people have this and love it, and apparently it lasts a long time aswell so it would be perfect as I am always filling in my brows. Now one major reason I havnt purchased this is because, as far as I am aware it isnt stocked anywhere close to me and with being the eyebrow prefectionist that I am, I want an absolutly perfect colour match and guessing at a colour online and buying it is just not for me!! Rest assured when I find this in a shop/salon some where I will be buying it there and then!
5. Mac Eyeshadow Palette, it goes without saying that a massive make up fan like me, wants nothing more than 15 beautiful Mac Eyeshadows in one handy palette! But unfortunetly I dont have £100+ just lying around to be spent on eyeshadow :( But as sad as this sounds an absolute dream of mine would be to stroll into a Mac Store, pick up a palette and buy 15 shades to go in it! Fingers crossed that one day I'll do just that! A blush palette wouldnt go a miss either ;)
6. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, so lastly Ive been dying to try out a new (high end) foundation and Ive heard nothing but good things about this one! Once again Ive never purchased anything from Laura Mercier and I would love to do so but £33 for a foundation from a brand Ive never used? Its a bit too risky for me! I know it would more than likely be perfect but I think maybe a sample of it would be better first :)
So there we go 6 make up products I am dying to get my hands on but unfortunetly I cant afford because my little part time job in a cafe just wont let me! One day when Ive saved up enough money all these products and more will be mine, but for now a girl can only dream cant she?!
Whats on your Makeup Wishlist? Id love to know!
