Boots and Debenhams Haul!

Hi Lovelies. I could actually kick myself right now because I've just realised I missed a product out of the main photo for this post! I honestly want to scream, I've just spent sooooo long taking pictures, put everything away and now as I gather the photos together, I notice pictures I took of my new cleansing water the other day that I totally forgot to include in today's photo taking marathon!
So with that drama pushed to the back of my mind here's a few things I've bought in the last week.

soap and glory, herbal essences, original source, yves saint laurent, la roche-posay

and No7 cleansing water I forgot to put in the first photo

First of all I'll get the boring essential things out of the way with first. I've been using the Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends shampoo and conditioner for a few months now and I really like them so I picked up some replacements. They were buy one get one free in Boots. As for the Original Source shower gels I have never used these before but  I eventually ran out of my Body Shop Cranberry Joy from January and they were half price in Boots so I got 2. As you all know I adore Raspberries so the Raspberry and Cream one was a must have for me and the Chocolate and Mint one is really fresh and ideal for waking me up in the morning.
As well as these, I decided to get something less boring and try out the No7 Cleansing Water. I've been wanting to try Bioderma for ages so when I got a voucher for £5 off No7 products I decided to pick this up for just £4. So far I really like it (I've used it about 4 or 5 times) But from reading reviews I've found that this doesn't have a patch on Bioderma so I will still be picking that up at some point to test out! But for now the No7 water will do.

I went into Debenhams intending to pick up the Benefit They're Real Mascara but as I dragged my boyfriend round the makeup stands he spotted the YSL Volume Effect Faux Clis Mascara and thought it looked nicer than the Benefit one, so told me to get that instead, and offered to pay for half of it. We asked at the counter how much it was and the lovely woman told us it was £23.50 for just the mascara but only £23 for this giftset. Which includes, the full sized mascara and a mini eye make up remover and mini eye cream. So I decided to get that. I absolutely love it! The mascara is amazing and so far I am enjoying the other 2 mini's as well. Of course I will get They're Real at one point but I'm really happy I picked this up! And thank you to the brilliant assistant who told me to get the giftset instead of just the mascara.

And finally I ordered these 3 beauties on Friday and they eventually turned up in store for me to pick up this afternoon. Like most other beauty bloggers I have read countless reviews on the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo and have been dying to get my hands on it. But whenever I had money this was sold out and whenever it was in stock I was skint, sods law huh? Eventually I was able to get my hands on it in the latest 3 for 2 deal in Boots and I am so excited to try it out. I've heard loads about Soap and Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It and seeing as I'm trying to get my skin in good condition at the minute I thought it was a great opportunity to try it out. As the cheapest item of the 3 this was my free product. And lastly Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush Body Scrub, everyone talks about it, everyone loves. I fell in love with it and sniff the stuff every time I go into Boots so I decided enough was enough and I bought it. Happy Days!

I'm so pleased with my purchases. What do you think? Have you tried any of these? And what do you think of them?
Hope you enjoyed having a nosey at what I spend my money on :)
Much Love Gemma xo.

Tag: Confessions of a Blogger

Hi Beauties :) I've been planning on a haul post since last week, but seeing as my stuff still hasn't turned up and my blog has become very bare recently I thought I'd give you my take on the tag that has been doing the rounds recently! Confessions of a Blogger.

When did you start your blog?
In October, I am a total newbie.

Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?
Nothing at all, only social networks.

Why did you start a blog?
I've been watching YouTube videos and reading blogs for years! And thought why not try out blogging! I'm extremely pleased that I did!

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
In all honestly only in the past few months. I've made a twitter just for my blog and have started talking to a lot more bloggers.

What was your first post?
A ridiculous and cringey 'About Me' I think.

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
Keeping up with products, I know it doesn't matter that I don't have the most expensive and new products to review but I feel my blog would be much more interesting if I had a bit more money. I seem to be reviewing things everyone has been using for years recently!

Where do you see your blog in one year?
I just hope it's still going and people are enjoying reading it.

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
I'm starting to interact with people that have similar interests as me, non of my friends enjoy Beauty etc as much as I do, so talking to them about it probably just bores them, unlike all you that read my blog.

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I can't say I've come across too many discouraging things or negativity as I haven't been doing this for long.

What's your lasting inspiration or motivation?
I am inspired and motivated by all of people whose blogs I read, Everyone has done so well and if I do half as well as some of them I'll be happy.

Let me know if you do this tag.
Much Love Gemma xo.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Mask

Hello Everyone. I'm going to tell you a little bit about the Hair Mask I've been using recently.
The 'Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Deep Nourishing Intensive Mask' wow what a mouthful!!

I picked this mask up a few months back and I have been using it at least once a week ever since. It makes my hair really soft and shiny and the day after I use it my hair looks beautiful. I use about a ping pong ball sized blob of the stuff and work it into the ends of my hair working my way up (hardly any touches my roots because I'm to scared of my hair being a horrible greasy mess, if I can help it the only thing that touches my roots is shampoo!) I'll then leave it to work its magic for about 5-10 minutes, and follow with my conditioner. This might sound dramatic but, the first time I used this and then applied my conditioner I thought my hair was falling out as I rinsed, because my hair was so unbelievably soft! It literally felt like I was running my hands through water not my hair!

My hair has been really dry for as long as I can remember, from years of black hair dye and heat abuse. But since putting this into my hair care routine I've noticed such a difference in the condition of my locks. Its a lot softer and shinier than it has been for a long while. And although I can't solely say it's all down to this product (because I have been trying a lot more hair care products and generally looking after it more recently.) I definitely do think it has helped.

The consistency of the mask is just like any other conditioner you would use. Not too thick and not to runny just a nice creamy texture. It smells like coconuts and reminds me of my holiday to Zante last year when I used the 'Hello Hydration' shampoo and conditioner. I picked this up when it was on over for around £2 but I think its usually no more than 4 or 5 pounds.
Overall I am really impressed and if I wasn't on the look out for another mask I would repurchase this in a heart beat.
Much Love Gemma xo.

Tag: I Heart Drugstore MakeUp

Hiya Everyone, Sorry for my absence recently. I've been quite the busy bee over this past week or so. Today I thought I would do something nice and quick! The 'I Heart Drugstore MakeUp Tag' has been quite popular over the last few months, I'm sure your all familiar with it and have read countless different ones. But I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

some of my drugstore collection

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?

It has to be Rimmel. I've always owned a lot of Rimmel products and recently they have been bring out some absolute gems!

2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?

Face has got to be Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. For cheeks I love MUA blushers and for lips the ever so famous Kate Moss Matte Lipsick for Rimmel in colour 107.

my favourites

3. Least favorite product?

I really don't get on with the Bourjois bronzer (the chocolate looking one!) I really wish I did and I'm trying all sorts but I just can't get it to work the way I want it to!

4. What is the best makeup bargain?

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, really cheap and works brilliantly.

5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)

I've never heard the MUA blushers being mentioned, but right now I'm loving them, I use 'shade 2' every day.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
Like everyone else from the UK has said, Mascaras! They seem to be getting dearer all the time.

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!

I haven't actually come across any.

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
Probably the Bourjois bronzer I mentioned before.

another look at some of my collection

Thank you for reading, hope your all having a brilliant week.

Instagram Post #4

Hi again, my second post today is my 4th helping of the pictures I have been sharing on Instagram in the past month or so. I think its gnna be a long one so lets get cracking.

First up my favourite Montagne Jeunesse so far, Chocolate Orange which literally smells like Terry's Chocolate Orange! Gorgeous! I picked up the Raspberry Lip Butter from Nivea a few weeks ago and it smells absolutely beautiful. I came across a great Instagram page 'getmydreambody' its full of motivational quotes, exercises and inspirational pictures, I loved this quote so much I had to share it myself 'I never regret it when I do it, I regret it when I don't.' which is so true I never regret exercising I always feel great afterwards, even when I'm knackered or in pain! However when I don't exercise I feel like a failure and regret it! I am really trying to get my body in great shape. Next I came across an app called Cocoppa and got myself some really cute girlie icons for my iPhone. I bought a box of chocolates on a whim and thought they were cute! Weirdo!!! My first ever #tbt or #throwbackthursday if your not familiar with the hash tag, This is a picture from 2009 at Leeds Festival, when me and my friends got our faces painted (I'm positive it was for a charity to raise awareness or something!) also my friend with a star on her face? She told the woman doing the face paint she was allergic and only wanted a tiny bit put on, and ended up with that! Ridiculous! I've decided I'm getting organised in 2013 with the help of this amazingly nice notebook from Wilkinsons and diary from Store 21. I was home alone last Saturday night so decided to watch Teen Mom with a Jack Daniels and Coke. The most amazing juice I have ever come across Apple and Raspberry from Tesco, (have you noticed a reoccuring thing on my Instagram? Raspberry flavoured things! I am obsessed) it tastes like the red J20 but costs only £1! This berry face mask actually stung quite a bit, it smelt gorgeous though and was a lovely pinky/purple colour! We had snow again on Wednesday but by the time I only decided to take a picture when it was melting :( I thought I completed 4pics 1word, But it turns out there was an update so I'm still going with it. If you haven't heard of this game where have you been?! Everyone seems to be playing it, go and download the app now but I warn you it is addictive. And the last three are my Valentines gifts from my boy. I was spoilt rotten with, a bunch of roses, a big box of chocolates, another 5 chocolates spelling out I <3 you, two chocolate love heart lollys, a bag of heart shaped jelly sweets, a me to you teddy bear, a single plastic rose, Lady Gaga's Fame perfume, a cocktail glass full of bath fizzers and a huge card! I was so shocked and beyond grateful! And I love every single one of my gifts. Look how beautiful them flowers are. And as for the box of chocolates I don't even want to eat them they look so pretty!

And that's everything. I hope you didn't get too bored reading this. And hope you all had a fabulous Valentines Day weather your single or in a relationship :)
Much Love Gemma xo.

7. What is the best movie you've seen recently?
Me and my boyfriend watch a film nearly every single night on either Sky or Netflix but I literally can't even think of what we've watched recently, so I don't know!

8. Do you like karaoke?
I hate it! I know that probably makes me boring but I literally never sing in front of people unless I am extremely drunk.

9. When putting on pants, do you button and then zip, or zip and then button?
Button then zip.

10. Weekly goals:
Make the boys birthday and the days following the best he's had.

YSL Rouge Volupte No. 29 Rose Opera

Hi Everyone, another lip product to show you today. This time, my very first Rouge Volupte Lipstick that my boyfriend very kindly bought me way back in April 2012! Post blogging days, so I apologise now for the fact you can clearly tell its been used in the pictures!

I had literally been wanting one of these for about 2 or more years! It was one of the first high end make up items that caught my eyes when I first started watching YouTube videos. But like a lot of things I lust after, it was well out of my price range, at £23.50 a pop! So when my boyfriend bought me one, one day when we were looking around Debenhams I was absolutely over the moon. In all honesty I was actually close to tears and kept on telling him not to buy it. We had been together for all of a week and a half at the time and I was really overwhelmed that he wanted to buy me it! Eventually I gave in and this beauty was mine!!

I got the shade number 29. Rose Opera which is, suprise suprise a bright pink. I wasn't so dramatic with my lip colours back then so I thought instead of buying something neutral, I would push the boat out and buy a colour that I wouldn't wear too often. Therefore having it for much longer, instead of using it all up within a few months. It's a much lighter bright pink than the other pinks in my collection. If that makes any sense at all?! In technical terms this means it is a more yellow toned pink than blue toned like the other pinks I own. But I love it and only use it on the odd occasion because I really don't want to use it up! The consistency of this lipstick is beautiful. Its really creamy and glides on easier than any other I have tried. It lasts a good few hours and leaves a beautiful stain of colour on the lips even when you think it has all gone.

As always packaging was a big factor for me! It is absolutely stunning and looks gorgeous amongst my other lipsticks, that just look boring and plain in comparison! I love the coloured window (which is the same colour as the lipstick) with the YSL logo in it! Its really sophisticated and makes me feel extremely glamorous on the odd occasion I take this out with me and pull it out of my handbag. If your willing to fork out £23.50 for a lipstick, do it! Its well worth it!

Rimmel Apocalips

Hi Girls. I know your all probably sick of hearing about the Rimmel Apocalips but I thought I would share my opinions on them with you all. One more isn't going to hurt right?!

Like many other beauty bloggers, I rushed out the day these beauties were released and picked up a few. Luckily living in a small town meant non had been sold by the time I got to Boots at nearly 5pm! All Rimmel products were on 3 for 2 in Boots at the time, but as my beloved Stay Matte Powder was on its last legs I decided to pick up a replacement. Leaving me able to only pick up two of the new releases. I decided on Big Bang and Apocaliptic.

As I expected I love these lip lacquers! The consistency is that of a lipgloss, expect they aren't at all sticky and dry matte. Eventually staining the lips when the product has rubbed off. The colours I picked up are very bold so any of you that prefer a softer or more nude lip colour should steer clear of these two. I however love them both as I am a very big fan of bold lip colours at the minute. Big Bang is a gorgeous true red colour, I don't actually have any reds in my collection so this is very much welcomed (I've decided I need more reds since getting this) And Apocaliptic is a bright in your face pink, which is right up my street! The doe foot applicator with a dip in it seems to cause some people trouble when applying, but I honestly think it works well. The dip means it picks up just the right amount of product to get a full coverage on the lips in just one swipe. And the doe foot gives a nice easy precise application. As for the packaging I love it. Its really unique with the crystal looking handle, which is somehow really fitting with the name Apocolips, it looks very 'sci fi esque' I think I will definitely be picking up some of the lighter more toned down shades in the near future. At £5.99 these are amazing products that won't break the bank and I highly recommend them.

I hope you didn't mind reading yet another review of these lip products.
Sorry for the lack of swatches I still haven't got the hang of taking them on my camera. Bare with me.
Much Love Gemma xo.

January Favourites

Hi Everyone, As promised, my January Favourites at long last! Better late than never though ey? Lets get started..

First up the make up I have been using on a daily basis this month.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - Ever since I bought 2 sets of Real Techniques brushes sometime last year, I have been absolutely loving them. I use this brush every single time I apply my make up. I will usually apply my foundation with my fingers then blend it in with this to give me a flawless finish, Then I will use it again to apply my powder over the top to set my foundation. I really do adore this brush, its the softest brush I have ever owned and I don't know how I managed without it!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - I have been using this concealer for well over a year now and have repurchased it countless times. I haven't even tried anything else because I like this so much. There's always been a huge hype on the blogosphere about this product and I 100% agree with it. This concealer does an amazing job at covering blemishes and dark circles and lasts all day. At less than £5 you really can't go wrong, I use the lightest shade, 01 Fair.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Eyeliner - As with all the other make up items in my favourites I love this and use it every single day. I got this not long after it first came out and haven't used any other pencil eyeliner since! The pigmentation of this is amazing and it doesn't budge all day. I have the black and nude versions and am extremely tempted to buy the other shades because I love them so much.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Lastly for make up is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I can't honestly say when I first got this but since first buying it there has been alot of hype around it and again I can see why. It does a really good job at setting your make up and holding it in place. And also combats any shine through out the day. I really like a matte finish to my make up so this is perfect for me. I even swapped this for MAC's blotting powder but once that ran out I went straight back to this as I much preferred it to the MAC powder!

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil - Now onto haircare. Last year I purchased this hair oil and didn't really use it that much. This month however I have been using it religiously and I really like it. It smells lovely and makes my hair really soft and shiny. And I also feel it has done my hair a world of good since using it. For more info check out my review of it in this blog post.

Enrapture Totem Styler -  I came across this in November time after reading loads of reviews on it and really wanted to buy it for myself. So as you can imagine I was over the moon when I found it on offer in Argos and my brother said he would get it for me as a Christmas present. One of the first things I did on Christmas morning was try these out. You can heat the different sections of the styler to different temperatures to create a variety of looks. So far I have only tried out a few different temperature combinations but I love all of the styles I have managed to create. The curls/waves hold really well and look beautiful. All throughout January I have been picking these up in favour of my beloved GHD's for super quick and easy looks whenever I go out. Review and pictures coming soon!

Finally a miscellaneous favourite of this month has been Temple Run 2. As my iPhone 4s is long dead :( my boyfriend has this on his Kindle Fire HD and I have been playing it whenever I can prise it away from his hands. I was over the moon when I eventually hit 1million points for the very first time, sad I know! But I just had to tweet a picture -

So that's it for my January Favourites, hope you enjoyed it and if you have done one please feel free to leave me a link to it below because I love reading them :) Hopefully the next one will appear before the 8th of the month!
Much Love Gemma xo.

Cherry Carmex

Hi everyone, just a short review for you all today. My go to lip balm of the moment.

During the winter months my lips always become dry and chapped. Over the years I have used a variety of brands but have never really found anything outstanding. Last year however I purchased a fair few different products to help combat my dry cracked lips. And this is the best one a came across. I've always heard of and seen Carmex but for some reason never picked it up, oh how I wish i did years ago! This was a god send through out winter. I used it on my lips all the time. If they started to feel dry I popped this on and my problem was solved. No cracked or sore lips in sight all winter! When this is applied I get a slight tingling sensation, which to me really isn't a bad thing, it just proves its working right? My lips feel instantly soothed and hydrated when I use this. It stays on for ages too, when I apply it at night, before bed its still there when I wake up and I am left with lovely soft lips. I got the cherry one as I love anything cherry flavoured but there is a variety of others you can pick up as well as a normal unflavoured option. Added bonuses is it has an SPF of 15 so it will help during summer as well as the cold winter months, its not too sticky and is also really affordable, I picked this up for nothing more than £3. As a beauty blogger I guarantee I will continue trying and testing more lip balms to try and find something better but for now I highly recommend this.

I promise my next post will be my January favourites! I hope your all having a wonderful week so far.
Much Love Gemma xo.

EVENTUALLY.. Dior Rose Diamond :)

Hi Everyone. As you may be able to tell from the title of this post I am extremely excited about one of my most recent make up purchases. I first saw Dior, Diorskin Poudre Shimmer in Rose Diamond (such a long name) in one of Tanya Burr's Youtube videos ages ago. I fell in love with it as soon as I set eyes on it and I have been dying to get my hands on it ever since!! But at £32 I just couldn't justify spending the money, until a few weeks ago.

i literally couldn't get a picture without a reflection because of how shiny the box is

In all honestly I didn't even think the Debenham's where I live sold this product, because I had never seen it on display, but after seeing a sample tucked away behind all the other testers at the Dior counter, I decided to ask if it was in stock, to my luck it was and after much hesitation I decided to buy it. My boyfriend was kind enough to put £15 towards it, so it wasn't as expensive for me. When I opened the box the product itself is in its own velvet pouch (I think this is the same with all Dior products? but after never owning a single piece of Dior make up before, I was amazed) I sadly enjoy packaging so this was a great added touch to such a sophisticated looking product and made me love it even more. The powder itself is housed in a gorgeous navy blue case with 'Dior' wrote in silver, with a holographic 'CD' for Christian Dior behind that. It has a full sized mirror in the lid and with no unnecessary brush the size of the powder is just as big as the case.

Now to the important part, the product. One word beautiful! The colour goes from white to a gorgeous rosy pink and to my suprise it isn't shimmery at all and when applied it gives a lovely glow to the skin. The lighter left hand side is lovely to apply just above the cheekbones as a highlight, and the pink can be used as a blush. I've used it for both of these and it looks stunning. It really brightens up the face and gives a healthy, natural glow. All in all I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Granted it is a bit steep to spend £32 on a face powder and I still can't quite believe I've gone and spent that much, but I really am glad I picked it up. I can't imagine wanting or needing to buy another highlight colour for a long time now, because I really am determined to get my moneys worth out of this. After longing for this for so long I am really happy I finally have it, and I am not at all disappointed, I love it just as much as I expected I would. It really is the most beautiful piece of make up I own. (I'm so cringey!!!)

Hope your week has started off well :)
Much Love Gemma xo.
